Art Davie, Creator/CEO of XARM, “The Roughest 3 Minutes in Sports”—Video Interview at NIBA Las Vegas 2011

XARM is a one-on-one contact sport combining arm wrestling, kickboxing and martial arts in three one-minute rounds. XARM, Inc. is a Nevada corporation focused on developing the XARM sport across multiple distribution channels: digital media, online video, live events and television. SNNLive spoke with Creator and CEO of XARM, Art Davie at the National Investment Banking Association Conference in Las Vegas 2011.

Art Davie is a renowned figure in the Sports Entertainment Space as the creator and developer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 1993. As it states on his website, “he single-handedly developed the mixed martial arts market”. The idea for the XARM, Davie claims, was, “designed with the mobile video platform in mind”, and he also, “wanted a sport with no ground grappling”, as he states in this interview. As Mr. Davie goes on to explain, “XARM is a brand new combat sport. In a sense, it is beyond Ultimate Fighting. It takes place at a table, the two fighters are tethered to the table, they’re locked hand-in-hand, there’s no where to run, no where to hide“. When it comes to combat sports, as the creator of UFC states, “this is not my first rodeo”.

To introduce this sport to the public, XARM, Inc. created a video game that you can download onto your iPhone with, “over 110,000 downloads”, since going live on the Apple store on November 12, 2011. Art Davie concludes by stating that they are finishing up the Android version of the game, which will be out by Christmas time.
