In this Wall Street View, our host spoke with Ajay Tandon and Brandon Primack, CEO and Senior Equity Analyst of SeeThruEquity, at the SeeThruEquity MicroCap Investor Conference 2014 in New York City, NY.
Mr. Tandon begins by stating how the current market has been for microcap life sciences companies, “We’ve had a lot of coverage in our coverage universe with respect to life sciences companies. I’d say probably a third of our companies that we cover are life sciences companies and of course you know given the microcap markets, the way they’ve been for life science companies we’ve seen that there’s been, you know just a very, very, very you know hot aspect to the space.” Mr. Primack adds, “With our companies, they are really market agnostic, it doesn’t really matter what the market is doing. These are such small unique stories, they each have their own following and you’ll see on a day-to-day basis they really don’t do what the market does.”
Mr. Tandon goes into what he looks for in a microcap company, “Management and execution is key. You know, when we’re looking at microcap companies, it’s management, it’s the space they’re in of course, the niche and then you know we look at companies that really do want to be public, you know meaning they want to get out to conferences, they want to get the message across. So I say those three aspects are something that we look for and then of course we go underneath the hood, look through the filings, look through all the public information just like I think all other sell-side analysts are looking at now.”
Mr. Primack concludes by stating what sector look forward to in 2015, “I’m gonna mimic Ajay, I’m going to say that life sciences, biotech there’s a tremendous amount of interest, there are some really phenomenal companies we’ve been introduced to over the last 12-18 months and I think that’s where, in this microcap space, I think that’s where you’re gonna see the smart money for now.” For more information, check out their website: www.SeeThruEquity.com
