Miles Franklin is anything but an ordinary gold and silver coin company. Their approach provides a creative strategy for diversifying one’s assets with precious metals. TThe company's advice is determined by individual customer needs and they take the time to find out what is suitable for each investor. Because of this approach their reputation throughout the industry is the highest caliber. In this Wall Street View, our host spoke with Andy Schectman, President of Miles Franklin at the Sprott Natural Resource Symposium 2014 in Vancouver, BC.
“Celebrating our 25th year of business we’ve done over 5 billion dollars in sales, most importantly, we’ve never had a customer complaint, we’ve never lost a package, we maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and a reputation is something that we very very proudly hang our hat upon and it’s really the one thing that we think makes us stick out” begins Mr. Schectman. He continues, “We sell precious metals, we store precious metals, we sell information, actually we give away information free in our daily newsletter, which I think is the finest in the industry – very comprehensive.”
Mr. Schectman explains, “When we think about gold and silver it happens to mostly come in coin form, but we think about it as wealth and as money, not an investment and not something to wear on yourself.” He adds, “Diversification is a term invented out of fiduciary responsibility by financial advisors to protect them from being sued. I think that the key to investing is not to be broadly diversified, as you’ll find most of the time asset classes don’t move in harmony, some move up, some move down, some move sideways, you become the best of the worst or the worst of the best. Instead the key in my opinion is to identify the primary trend of the market and if you are asking me, I would say the primary trend is the falling dollar, from that standpoint you take a very large percentage of your assets and broadly diversify within the primary trend.” For more information, check out their website at www.milesfranklin.com
