CrowdGather, Inc. (OTCQB: CRWG) provides a highly interactive and informational social network for members, a management and revenue-sharing resource for third-party owners, and a largely untapped advertising network for marketers worldwide. With its growing portfolio of special interest forums and enthusiast message board communities, CrowdGather has created a centralized network to benefit forum members, forum owners, and forum advertisers. SNNLive spoke with Sanjay Sabnani, CEO of CrowdGather, Inc. at Singular Research's 9th Annual "Best of the Uncovereds" Conference 2014 in Bel Air, CA.
The practice of advertising through games has increasingly become a major revenue source for many companies regardless of their size. Mr. Sabnani explains how CrowdGather made the transition into this market, “CrowdGather started out as a roll-up identifying that online communities were a very attractive purchase and a great way to grow a huge network of users in terms of traffic and participation. We did that for a while but realized we were hitting the wall in terms of growth because advertising is so volatile that we wanted to ensure that we had other lines of business and this year in May we did something tremendous, we acquired a gaming company and the game that they have is called Mega Fame Casino.”
Mr. Sabnani continues by explaining the significance of acquiring Megafame, “It’s a social casino which means you’re playing for fun right, yes we make money on it – a couple of bucks here and there but it adds up significantly. So what CrowdGather has done now is we’ve taken this big crowd that we’ve accumulated and we’re going to put them in our casino and historically that has been a very good way to make money.” The combination of gaming with a large social network created two revenue sources for the company – the first being banner advertisements that rotate while people are socializing or playing the games and the other is in-game purchases. The games are free to play and while the in-game purchases are not required to enjoy the full extent of the games, they offer players access to tables with a more fun and competitive edge.
CrowdGather has about, “90 million page views a month, so about ten billion total annual page views. We have nine million unique visitors a month which is 108 million a year, on our game we have 25,000 daily players.” For more information, check out their website at www.CrowdGather.com
