MagneGas Corporation (NASDAQ: MNGA) is a waste-to-energy company that converts liquid waste into a hydrogen based fuel. The Company owns the patents to this revolutionary technology called “Plasma Arc Flow.” The PLASMA ARC FLOW™ process gasifies or sterilizes a number of liquid wastes and produces a gaseous fuel known as MagneGas.™ MagneGas is a cost competitive and clean burning fuel that is essentially interchangeable with Natural Gas or it can be co-combusted with existing hydrocarbon fuels and has the lowest Green House gas emissions when compared to fossil fuel. The Magnegas system occupies a small footprint and runs in a completely sealed environment. The fuel can be used for metal cutting, cooking, heating, or powering natural gas bi-fuel automobiles. SNNLive spoke with Luisa Ingargiola, CFO of MagneGas Corporation at the LD Micro "Main Event" 2014 in Bel Air, CA.
Luisa Ingargiola begins with an overview of the company, “MagneGas is a technology company that converts liquid waste into a hydrogen-based fuel. That fuel is used for three purposes: one it’s sold into the metalworking market, second the system itself is used to produce fuel while it processes liquid waste and third we actually have found that by mixing magnegas with other fuels, we can reduce emissions such as CO and CO2.”
She continues with an update of the company, “We’ve had a lot of exciting things that have occurred, the major one is that we actually had an acquisition this year, we acquired a small gas distribution company out of Florida. We’re really excited about that because it gives us a platform to actually sell our fuel and secondarily, we found out from the New York Fire Department that they’re in the final stages of testing our gas as a replacement to acetylene on their truck.”
She discusses what the focus of MagneGas will be in the future, “2016, we see the focus on more advanced uses of our fuel. We are currently in advanced testing with a major utility research center to mix MagneGas with coal and reduce emissions, and we already proven internally that when you mix magnegas and co-combust it with coal we can reduce emissions and increase heat output and we’re actually now working with a utility research company to prove that through a third party.” For more information, check out the website: www.MagneGas.com
