Kaizen Discovery Inc. (TSX-V: KZD) is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company. Kaizen entered into a collaboration agreement with ITOCHU Corporation of Japan in January 2014 and has access to HPX TechCo's proprietary, geophysical, Typhoon technology under a dedicated services agreement, according to the company’s website (see here: www.KaizenDiscovery.com). SNNLive caught up Matthew Hornor, President, CEO and Director of Kaizen Discovery Inc. at the Sprott Stansberry Natural Resource Symposium 2015 in Vancouver, BC.
Mr. Hornor begins the interview with a brief overview of the Company, “Kaizen Discovery is a junior exploration mining company that’s partnered with ITOCHU Corporation out of Japan. ITOCHU Corporation is a $23 billion market-cap trading house, [with]105,000 employees in 65 countries, and they are supporting our efforts in buying companies and projects in this depressed mining cycle. So, we’re buying low and selling high, and bringing our Japanese partners in at the project level to advance our projects and develop them.” He continues with a history of the Company and their deal with ITOCHU Corporation.
Mr. Hornor goes on to explain the current condition of the junior mining market, how the Company’s business model can sustain the down mining cycle, what allows Kaizen to be competitive in junior mining with their proprietary geophysical technology and access to capital, and background on the Company’s Executive VP of Exploration, Dr. David Broughton, who was co-leader of the Kamoa discovery team that is the 2015 recipient of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada's (PDAC) prestigious Thayer Lindsley Award.
Mr. Hornor concludes with an update on the company’s progress since the last time SNNLive spoke with him last year (See here: Kaizen Discovery – Working with Japanese Financing Partners to Identify, Explore and Develop High-quality Mineral Projects), and his insight into the company’s growth strategies for 2015-2016.
