AMP Electric Vehicles (OTCQB: AMPD) is a leader in the medium-duty, commercial grade strip chassis market. The Company combines first-class research and design coupled with an efficient assembly operation along with the capability of powering the chassis with engines fueled by gasoline, propane, GNG or Amp Electric Vehicles’ innovative all-electric drive train. SNNLive spoke with Steve Burns, CEO of AMP Electric Vehicles at the SeeThruEquity MicroCap Investor Conference 2014 in New York City, NY.
Mr. Burns begins with an overview of the company, “We make electric delivery trucks essentially, so kind of the iconic…parcel delivery, uniform, bread companies. So we realized those were good candidates for electrification, they stop and go all day long, they come back to the ranch for recharging, and they get terrible gas mileage as gas cars – typically as gas trucks they get 6 or 7 miles per gallon.” He explains that they bought Workhorse, which was fully engaged gas truck company. AMP’s goal was to convert this gas company to electric with a small emergency generator reserve.
He looks forward to drone delivery in the future, “Drone delivery is starting to come into play right, the FAA does not currently allow it, but everyone thinks it’s going to open up next year and it is open in other countries. So if you have a little package to go out to farmer Brown 3 miles away, should you drag a 20,000 mile truck there or should you give it to the drone?” He adds, “This drone rides on top of the truck, it’s claws stick through a portal in the truck, the driver says this one is good for – the drone is called horsefly because it’s a workhorse truck made into a horsefly, so he gives the package, the claws close, reads the barcode and off it goes and that can do it for like 3 cents a mile.” For more information, check out their website: www.AmpElectricVehicles.com
