Miranda Gold Corp. (TSX-V: MAD) is a gold exploration company active in Nevada, Alaska and Colombia, whose emphasis is on generating gold exploration projects with world-class discovery potential. Miranda performs its own grass roots exploration and then employs a joint venture business model on its projects in order to maximize exposure to discovery while minimizing exploration risk. Miranda has ongoing relationships with Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd., Prism Resources, Montezuma Mines Inc., and Red Eagle Mining Corporation. SNNLive spoke with Kenneth Cunningham, Chairman, President and CEO of Miranda Gold Corp. at the Sprott Natural Resource Symposium 2014 in Vancouver, BC.
“Miranda is a prospect generator and then we employ a joint venture business model,” begins Mr. Cunningham. He continues, “We’re really good explorers, everybody in the company is a geologist, come up with good projects and then we find partners to work them.”
Mr. Cunningham explains, “Some of our projects are so attractive that we can hand them off for, you know without really doing any of the work on them.” He adds, “When you’ve been in the business for 30, 40 years you tend to realize that you know not all mineralization is economic, not all jurisdictions are good jurisdictions. So we try to work in world-class jurisdictions and we know the difference between deposits that, you know can go somewhere and deposits that will be around for the next 30 years and people will continue to promote them, so we try to really look for quality projects and the companies that we work with realize that.” For more information, check out my website at www.MirandaGold.com
