Bonaverde developed the world’s first roast-grind-brew coffee machine to be launched to the market at the end of this year. The machine turns the raw, green coffee beans into fresh, black filter coffee. SNNLive spoke with Hans Steir, CEO / Managing Director of Bonaverde Coffee, a private company, at The Israel Conference 2014 in Los Angeles, CA.
Mr. Stier begins with an overview of the company, “Bonaverde Coffee basically disrupts the value chain of coffee. So what we do is we bring the green, unroasted coffee straight from the farmers to the consumer's doorstep.” He states that Bonaverde does this by having, “a marketplace set up where we have all the farmers integrated and we provide the consumers with a machine that can roast, grind and brew the coffee. This way consumers have the freshest coffee ever and farmers get to sell their product directly to consumers.”
Coffee, being the second largest consumer commodity market right under oil, reaches a large amount of consumers on a daily basis. Many coffee connoisseurs enjoy specific varieties of coffee and would like to have the beans as fresh as possible, but are limited by the time it takes to roast, grind and brew the coffee. Mr. Stier goes into how the consumer will know exactly what coffee bean you are brewing and where it’s from, “We’ve integrated a chip technology into the coffee back that you sell – that you buy, we sell. This back allows to bring the very parameters that the farmer has programed onto that chip onto your coffee machine.” The delivery system has been set up to deliver fresh coffee beans from anywhere, to anywhere.
