Jeb Handwerger, Editor of GoldStockTrades.com, where he Newsletter Subscribers can read about his “up to minute” technical analysis of the markets, and is also a Rare Earth Element Think Tank Member. Jeb stopped by to share his views with SNNLive at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference 2012.

In this interview, Mr. Handwerger discusses the uranium sector in both the US and abroad, as well as the future of nuclear power. He begins by saying, “since Fukishima, many of the Uranium stocks, due to the earthquake and the tsunami, were beaten down to very undervalued bargain basement prices. And we are beginning to see a reversal in the Uranium miners, where some of them have almost doubled in 2012, investors are realizing that there may be a supply/demand crisis in Uranium“, and Mr. Handwerger postulates, “We may be seeing a spark in the raising of the price of uranium.”

Mr. Handwerger also discusses a major event that recently occurred in the Uranium sector: “recently, we had another major catalyst in the Uranium space was Rio Tinto, one of the biggest mining giants who hasn’t made a major deal since the credit crisis in 2008. In 2011, they made their first major deal since the credit crisis, where they bought Hathor Exploration in Athabasca. The question is, this is Rio Tinto and this the major mining giant in the world, and they are buying Uranium miners, why are they buying Uranium miners? Because they see they are bargain basement prices.”

He concludes by discussing the future of Uranium and Nuclear Energy in the United States: “The United States has 25% of their power come from nuclear energy. Over 90% of that Uranium used in US nuclear reactors is imported.
