Founded in 1995, Cambridge House International Inc. has grown to be the world leader in producing resource investment conferences, specifically in the mineral exploration sector. The conferences are held throughout North America, and they bring the industry together in efficient two-day events. Exhibitors are public companies involved with mineral exploration, oil & gas, and clean technology, along with media and service providers. The conferences attract both novice and expert retail, accredited, and institutional investors. Top CEOs, hedge-fund managers, newsletter writers, trends forecasters, geologists, investing celebrities, and industry analysts deliver strong messages and share knowledge from behind the podiums toeducate and inform these investors. SNNLive attended the 2012 Cambridge House Resource Conference in Palm Springs, California, and spoke to Cambridge House’s founder, Joe Martin, about “investor tourism.”
In Mr. Martin’s own words: “Over the last several years, as an investor I’ve traveled to China, Quebec, Thailand, and Mexico, looking at projects. Often companies will take an analyst or a newsletter writer to tour, but the investors don’t often go, so I’ve created Investor Tourism, and our first mission is coming up in April we’re taking a dozen or so over to Cambodia, where there is one Canadian company now drilling for gold.” He also plans to organize trips to Laos, Turkey, and Quebec. Mr. Martin feels that you don’t go to downtown Manhattan to look for investment opportunities. “I made my first trip to China six or seven years ago,” he says. “Guys would love to get out to see these places… when you see a company, see a project, see the people on the ground, you’re more inclined to like your investments.” For more information about Investor Tourism and upcoming Cambridge House events, check out their website, and you can follow them on Twitter @Cambridge. SNNLive welcomes back Joe Martin, Chairman and Founder of Cambridge House.
