Clean Wind Energy, Inc. (CWET: OTCBB) a wholly owned subsidiary of Clean WindScreen shot 2012 04 26 at 3 04 39 PM Energy Tower, Inc, has designed and is preparing to develop, and construct large “Downdraft Towers” that use benevolent, non-toxic natural elements and operate with virtually no carbon footprint, fuel consumption, or residual waste to generate electricity and clean water economically by integrating and synthesizing numerous proven as well as emerging technologies. This technology will generate clean, cost effective and efficient electrical power without the damaging effects caused by using fossil or nuclear fuels, and other conventional power sources.

SNNLive spoke with Ronald Pickett, CEO of Clean Wind Energy, Inc. at the National Investment Banking Association Conference Screen shot 2012 04 27 at 11 26 24 AMin New Orleans, LA 2012. Mr. Pickett begins by discussing what the Downdraft Tower is and how it works: “we designed a Downdraft tower and its a large hollow cylinder, we locate it in a hot/dry area like Arizona or Southern California, northern Mexico. And across the top of the tower we spray a fine mist of water, and this hot air must absorb the water, can’t refuse it, it sinks, it gets heavy and dense, sinks down the tower, creates wind, at the bottom of the tower we disperse it into wind tunnels. We spin turbines, and make electricity.”

The “Downdraft Towers” is a round structure that is, “designed for 200 mph winds”, and puts, “very little pressure in between the cylinder”, Mr. Pickett explains.
